KUKA – Plant #1

KUKA – Plant #1

KUKA has a changeful history in the years of its existence at Augsburg site. Not only re the range of products and services. Also the production facilities have changed several times over the past 116 years. Recently, I had to apply new my passport. In Augsburg, you do this in the administrative center of the city of Augsburg or in one of the citizens service centers in the various districts. And just one of these offices is housed in the former factory of KUKA in Augsburg-Oberhausen. Also resident in the building is a district library, where interested “bookworms” can loan books and magazines.  “Life” is recovered in the former office and factory complex for several years also. Many apartments were renovated lovingly and with large redevelopment effort in the historic substance. How is it to live there?   [show slideshow]               VN:F [1.9.22_1171]please wait...Rating: 0.0/5 (0 votes... Good evening…

Good evening…

…from Automatica Fair at Munich Exhibition Centre. A strenuous day is over. The visitors and our sales team are long on the way home or back to their hotel. Here at the KUKA booth in Hall A4 work is still ongoing. The catering service, which hosted guests during the day and served food and drinks, cleans up, puts back tables and chairs, washes off and again the next day everything prepared for the onslaught of guests. The cleaning team wipes glass and tables, emptied the trash cans and sucks around 800 sqm carpet floor. Our technicians are checking all applications again and bring the robots in their “sleeping position” – they don’t have to work through exceptional these days. In the back office, we’re capturing the last contact sheets of the day and transfer them to the database for processing after the fair. And along with our photo and film crew we use gradually returning silence to capture our show applicationen on camera. You see – still a lot of work after the work. Good night! Citizens of Augsburg, bankers, KUKAner – active and former employees, young and old visitors from all over the world are joining the meeting here, to learn about the economic situation of the company. But it is not only the official speeches and formalities. In the entrance hall there are, familiar faces, “as every year”, employees and shareholders. And so it has the sense of a big family celebration – the annual meeting of all KUKAner here in Augsburg. .             VN:F [1.9.22_1171]please wait...Rating: 5.0/5 (1 vote... Read More
Summer lunch

Summer lunch

Posted By on 2014-05-22

Even we have summer temperatures of around 30 degrees Celsius, the refreshing and healthy lunch may don’t miss out. So, I send to you a small “food selfie” from our kanteen. There is just “Active week with Dean & David“. According to this concept of “uncompromising freshness” and using only vitamin– and mineral–rich ingredients, today there was a fresh salad mix with oriental grilled chicken breast strips, mango, grana padano cheese, almond slivers and blue grapes today. Yummie! The way back to the office was however at the kiosk… bought a round of ice cream for my colleagues 😉                 VN:F [1.9.22_1171]please wait...Rating: 5.0/5 (1 vote... Read More
Rocket Launch

Rocket Launch

Posted By on 2014-02-07

Yesterday evening 6:30 pm local time in French Guiana an “Ariane 5” space rocket lifts off from space mission launch center in Kourou to its 125 minute flight to transport two satellites into the orbit. Totaly about 9 tons freight were lifted into the sky. Well, but what has that got to do with KUKA Systems? Our colleagues in Augsburg supplied three years ago an automated welding station for producing the upper stage nozzle of the Ariane 5- launch system. Since then more than 150 noozles were produced in this welding cell. High technology for the space and for safe freight transportation. 730 meters weld seam and 14,600 weld spots were made at each nozzle . Delighting precision . Also to this “small” news – 6:30 pm in the north of South America. Congratulation on the successful mission and to out team for this “Masterpiece of Engineering”.
