Augsburg celebrates with FCA
There was a super atmosphere at the party to mark FC Augsburg’s promotion at the end of May. More than 2,000 KUKA employees, amongst whom there were many football fans, had come to celebrate the promotion. For those who don’t know Augsburg well: Fussball Club Augsburg (FCA for short) gained promotion to the top Bundesliga soccer division for the 2011/2012 season. This is the first time that FCA has managed this in its history since the club was founded in 1907, and we joined in the celebrations. In beautiful weather, Stephan Schulak greeted all the employees as well as Peter Bircks, chairman of the FCA Supervisory Board. Over sausages and drinks with musical accompaniment, everyone had a great time and took part in the prize competition. There was a chance to win ten FCA shirts, as well as ten pairs of tickets for the opening game. Following the party, the winners were drawn and were all very happy about their prizes. The opening game took place at the start of August in Augsburg. Despite KUKA’s support, the game against FC Freiburg only finished with a 2:2 draw, but nevertheless it was enormously enjoyable.
