Magnetarc Welding developed by KUKA Systems is a pressure welding process with an arc that is moved magnetically under shielding gas. The rotating arc, which can be precisely controlled, heats the weld surface. This allows a particularly safe and position accurate joining process and therefore highest welding quality. This is why this process is readily used in production of security related components like rear axles in the automotive industry. Furthermore magnetarc-welding can join different materials economically, because expensive materials is only used for the important component parts.
