Spot welding joins materials with heat and power, transferred through the electrodes of spot welding tongs. A welding current heats the welding spot to the melting point and the sheets are joined by pressure while the material cools down. In this way, cardoor frames or whole car bodies are welded where no continuous seam is needed. This process has been established for years and guarantees a high quality of components. As the process is furthermore feasible within the fraction of a second and doesn’t need additives like gases or wires it is a popular technology, especially in the automotive section.
